First I want to say a HUGE “thank you!” to everyone who has purchased a Starfish Reviews lifetime license. We’re overwhelmed by your willingness to take a chance on us and buy our plugin at this early stage. It’s incredible and we’re humbled to have you webmasters, marketers, and small business owners using our plugin and giving us feedback. We appreciate it. I’ll send out an email with a link to a survey to help us better serve you with future releases.
Starfish Reviews 1.2 Confirmed Features
We’re working on the Lite/Free version to go on WordPress.org right now. Once that’s finished, we’ll finish up version 1.2 of the plugin. We’ve already completed or will complete the following fixes and new features for this release. It should be released before the end of Q1 2018.
- Fix: use {funnel-name} in the email message body.
- Fix: line breaks ignored in the email message body.
- Feature: new {review-id} shortcode for the email contents to include the ID parameter from the review.
- Feature: auto-forward to destination after X amount of time.
- Feature: put in your affiliate URL to get credit if people click the “Powered by Starfish” link on your funnel.
- Feature: set reply-to email to the ID, if you’re using customer’s emails as the ID.
I’m really excited about the auto-forward feature! It decreases Starfish Reviews’ already-low amount of friction even further. The affiliate linking feature is pretty cool too. You can earn money if your clients, or client’s-clients, like how the Funnel works, then click the link and buy Starfish Reviews for themselves.
What’s Next for Reviews
We’re all about LEAN Startup method here at Starfish. So we listen to you and build what you ask for, not what we think you might want. Based on your feedback, there are more exciting features we know we are going to add. But we don’t yet know what release they’ll be included in. Here is a sneak-peak of features know are coming later this year. A few might even sneak up into version 1.2 before we release it:
- Option to ask for Name and Email on negative reviews.
- Multiple destinations! Give reviewers a selection of destinations so they can choose where to leave their review.
- Obscure the license key in the licensing screen.
- Move the licensing settings inside the main Starfish Reviews settings page.
- Multisite compatibility. It should currently work if activated and licensed on individual sub-sites, but we haven’t fully tested, and want to make it much easier with network activation and Network Admin licensing.
- Make “Yes” and “No” on the thumbs images into actual text, so it can be changed/translated.
- More and more as we get feedback from you.
I’m super excited for the future of Starfish Reviews and hope you all are as well. You all seem to be, based on the way you’ve voted by buying lifetime licenses. We really appreciate it and are going to work hard to provide awesome new features and amazing support to all you Lifetime early-adopters, as well as all our future marketers that join us on this amazing journey!
